Kevin Baldwin
The tallest man in UK 4×4 journalism x far, Kev’s ‘MUD Rails’ are the product that set the MUD UK ball rolling. After a lifetime of suffering behind the wheel of Land Rovers without leg room, 6’5” Kev took it upon himself to do something about it. A regular freelance contributor to Land Rover Owner International, Land Rover World and 4×4 magazine, Kev describes himself as an ‘off-road enthusiast who just happens to write a bit…’. Working with photographer Wayne Mitchelson, the pairing have formed a formidable partnership bringing back off-road features from allaround the world. Kev’s off-road CV spans 20-years of competitive off-roading and encompasses just about every form of off-road vehicle; motorsport; overland travel and trip planning. He’s even taught ‘Loaded’ magazine how to drive off-road…
Stuart Baldwin
Stuart has run a successful Land Rover & 4×4 repair business for over 25 years. In addition to taking care of local Land Rover owner’s needs, projects that have passed through the Baldwin workshop over the years include Unimog rebuilds, Bowler off-road racers, and the restoration of the only amphibious Land Rover in the world. Stuart can also proudly claim to have had a hand in every one of classic Land Rover restorer Ken Wheelwright’s world famous early Land Rover collection.
MUD-UK has been involved in the off-road scene for over twenty years during which time Kevin and Stuart Baldwin enjoyed regular success in their Bowler 88. Pre-dating the Bowler was a Series II that won both the National Trial and National Comp Safari.
